What Backs Your New Roof
Lifetime material warranty + GAF Golden Pledge workmanship coverage — only available from Master Elite contractors.
When Ten Point Roofing replaces your roof, you get coverage from two separate sources: GAF as the manufacturer, and Ten Point as the installing contractor. Because Ten Point is a GAF Master Elite contractor — a certification held by fewer than 2% of roofers nationwide, and the one that carries GAF's strongest warranty programs — your installation qualifies for coverage that standard contractors cannot offer. Here is what that means in practice.
GAF Material Warranty — Lifetime
GAF architectural shingles installed by a Master Elite contractor come with a lifetime limited warranty on the material itself. That covers manufacturing defects in the shingles, underlayment, and accessory products for the life of the installation when maintained properly.
“Lifetime” here means the expected useful life of the product under normal use and conditions. The exact terms are detailed in the GAF warranty document that ships with your installation — we'll walk through it with you before work begins.
GAF Golden Pledge — 25-Year Workmanship Warranty
The Golden Pledge is GAF's highest-tier workmanship warranty — 25 years, manufacturer-backed. It covers installation defects for a quarter-century and is available only from GAF Master Elite contractors. A standard GAF Certified contractor cannot offer it.
If something goes wrong with the installation inside that 25-year window, GAF stands behind the repair — not just Ten Point. That's the manufacturer backing the workmanship directly.
A Silver Pledge 10-year workmanship option is also available for projects where that coverage level is the right fit. Both options are documented in writing in your contract before any work begins.
What Warranties Do Not Cover
- ×Storm damage (hail, wind, ice, Nor'easters) — this is what homeowners insurance is for
- ×Damage from tree limbs, debris impact, or water infiltration through a wall or chimney
- ×Improper ventilation in the attic
- ×Work performed by another contractor after installation
- ×Roofs that haven't had regular maintenance
A Note on Warranty Advertising
You may have seen roofing contractors advertise headline year-counts — “50-year material warranty,” “25-year labor coverage,” and similar language. Be skeptical of bare numbers without specifics. Those figures correspond to named programs with eligibility requirements, and a contractor who can't name the specific program probably can't actually deliver it.
Ten Point's warranty offer is specific: a lifetime GAF material warranty, plus a Golden Pledge 25-year workmanship warranty (or Silver Pledge 10-year) — both named programs documented in writing before we start. Ask us to put the program name in your contract. Any contractor who won't do that is not offering what they're advertising.
