Storm Damage Roof Repair in the Poconos
Hail, wind, Nor'easters — inspection, documentation, and repair.
A Nor'easter comes through on a Tuesday night. Wednesday morning you notice a shingle in the yard, a dark spot on the ceiling in the bedroom, or just a feeling that something's different up there. The Poconos gets weather that other parts of Pennsylvania don't — sustained wind from the north, heavy wet snow loads, hail in spring and early fall, ice storms that take ridge caps off entire neighborhoods in a single night.
Ten Point Roofing handles storm damage work: the inspection, the written documentation, and the repair. You get a written scope and photos that describe exactly what we found on the roof.
What Storm Damage Looks Like
Wind damage
Strong winds lift shingle tabs, break the adhesive seal on architectural shingles, and sometimes pull entire shingles loose. Wind damage is often found in a predictable pattern — typically on the windward face or at corners and edges where uplift is greatest.
Hail damage
Hail leaves circular impact marks on shingles — you can see the granule loss in the shape of each impact. The granule loss from hail accelerates aging. A roof hit by significant hail may look intact from the driveway but be meaningfully compromised.
Ice dam damage
Ice builds at the eave during freeze-thaw cycles. As the ice grows, it forces melt water back up under the shingles at the lower edge of the roof. Ice dam entry points typically show up as water stains on interior ceilings near the exterior wall.
Nor'easter damage
The combination of heavy, wet snow, sustained wind, and freeze-thaw cycling puts cumulative stress on every vulnerable point on a roof. After a significant Nor'easter, flashing can lift, ridge cap can blow off, and gutters can be pulled away from the fascia by ice weight.
What Ten Point Provides After a Storm
After we inspect, you get a written scope and photos that describe what we found and where. You can use those documents however you need to. We can also be on-site during an adjuster's visit so they're looking at the same roof we saw. What happens between you and your insurer from there is between you and your insurer — our job is the inspection and the repair.
Storm damage is covered by your homeowners policy's dwelling coverage, not your roof's warranty. The warranty covers manufacturing defects and workmanship. Storm is weather. Two different things.

Common Questions
How do I know if I have hail damage if I can't see it from the ground?+
You probably can't. Hail damage on architectural shingles often isn't visible without being on the roof and knowing where to look. If you had a hail event in your area, a free inspection is worth it — especially if the hail was large enough to dent gutters or aluminum trim. Those are reliable indicators that the shingles took impact too.
What if my claim is denied?+
A denial isn't always final. If you believe the documented damage is legitimate, you can request a reinspection, provide additional documentation, or engage a public adjuster. We can speak to what we found on the roof. What happens with the insurer from there is between you and them.
How quickly can you get out after a storm?+
We prioritize active damage situations — roofs with open exposure, active leaks, interior damage occurring. Call 570-212-9543 and tell us what's happening.
Can a contractor waive my deductible?+
No — and any contractor who offers to do so is asking you to commit insurance fraud. That's illegal in Pennsylvania. The deductible is your obligation under your policy. A legitimate contractor will never suggest waiving it.
